Bridging Borders in Beijing: Gateway Scripts Hosts Successful ESAPI Clinical Scripting Courses in High-Tech District in Beijing, China
In late October, Gateway Scripts had the pleasure of hosting a series of impactful clinical courses at the Varian Education Center in Beijing, China. Over the span of four days, from October 21-24, attendees immersed themselves in the intricacies of the Eclipse Scripting API (ESAPI) and Visual Scripting, gaining valuable programming and automation skills. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Beijing’s autumn, the courses benefited from the energy and dedication of participants, who were not only attentive but also actively engaged in clinical development and research in their respective Chinese institutions.
The recently renovated Varian Education Center, located within the vibrant Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, provided an ideal setting for the courses. This area is a fusion of traditional Beijing charm and cutting-edge technological advancement, with autonomous vehicles, bicycles, and street vendors sharing the neighborhood in a unique blend of innovation and culture. The center's support and hospitality allowed the participants to focus deeply on their learning journey.
The courses began with a foundational ESAPI Introduction session, guiding participants through C#, essential ESAPI functions, and popular libraries like LINQ. With hands-on exercises, attendees built example scripts, solidifying their understanding of these programming concepts. The courses then progressed to automation techniques within ESAPI, equipping clinicians with tools to streamline their clinical processes.

In parallel, the Visual Scripting Immersion course introduced participants to Visual Scripting and the creation of action packs. As the training advanced, attendees explored user interface development for action packs to enhance clinical reporting, optimize objectives, and implement automation directly through Visual Scripting.
Gateway Scripts is thrilled with the success of these sessions and deeply values the enthusiasm and commitment of the attendees. The experience reinforces Gateway Scripts' dedication to supporting Chinese clinicians and physicists in expanding their programming expertise within the Eclipse environment. We eagerly look forward to further collaborations and educational opportunities in China in the coming years.
